The pandemic brought room for further deepening of existing political crises, democratic disconfigurations and polarization of society and the political spectrum. The project will therefore analyze the factors that drove populism during the pandemic, both at the legislative and executive levels. Since parliamentary democracies find themselves not only under pressure from crisis situations, but also from alternative conceptions to liberal democracy, the project will focus on the analysis of changes in society as well as on the research of political elites.
