Daniela Prokschová will mainly deal with research on civic education and media literacy in primary and secondary schools. These topics are very relevant in today's era of growing populism and the occurrence of misinformation in the public space, which has been accelerated by the covid-19 pandemic. The goal of civic education and media education is to strengthen interest in politics, awareness of one's own political effectiveness and the ability to critically analyze media production. The research will focus mainly on secondary vocational schools and schools in socio-economically disadvantaged regions, because it is here that great potential is seen for reducing inequalities in education, political participation and mitigating social polarization.
