The goal of the Vlček Family Foundation is to develop children's palliative care in the Czech Republic and help build the best possible network of services that reflect the needs of families caring for a child with a serious illness.
Collaboration: The foundation funded the SYRI research, the conclusions of which, among other things, showed that the Czech healthcare system still has large reserves for families caring for children with the most severe health complications. Half of the parents say that they have to rely on close family members to cope with the situation. Less than 10 percent of respondents report assistance from public and non-profit organizations with childcare. Almost a third of families said that no one helps them.
