Health crises pose a challenge to the quality of democracy by threatening institutional frameworks, weakening the separation of powers, and straining the independence of the judiciary. One of the issues we face is the polarisation of society. Systemic crises can also be crises of the rules and procedures of political institutions and processes. SYRI scholars therefore focus on successful reforms of law formulation and governance processes in the Czech Republic and around the world and propose feasible reforms in the country.
