The Minister of Health is a professional think tank bringing together professionals from various fields who want to achieve necessary changes in the Czech healthcare system and in the perception of Czechs' own health.
It strives to change the environment with the aim of extending the healthy life of the inhabitants of the Czech Republic by providing the outputs of expert working groups to key stakeholders.
Collaboration: A member of the Cabinet of the Minister of Health is Prof. RNDr. Dagmar Dzúrová, CSc., head of the SYRI research group, which focuses on socioeconomic inequalities in health. In collaboration with RNDr. Michala Lustigová, Ph.D., they organized a round table on methodologies for measuring healthy life expectancy.
Under the auspices of Professor Dzúrová, SYRI became a signatory of the Call to Protect Public Health and Restrict the Availability of Alcohol in the Czech Republic. It responds to the alarming impacts of excessive alcohol consumption in the Czech Republic and offers specific solutions based on data and proven foreign practice. In total, the call was supported by 50 renowned institutions from the fields of healthcare (e.g. the Czech Medical Chamber), prevention (Loono) or addiction (Czech Association of Addiction Theorists), as well as civil society (Safety Line, Konsent) and sport (Czech Olympic Committee, Sokol).
