The Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic collects and processes statistical data in order to improve the quality of the Czech healthcare system. Its founder is the Ministry of Health, and the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic is the administrator of the National Health Information System (NZIS). Without this data, it would be impossible to analyze and predict developments in the field.
Collaboration: SYRI is collaborating with the Institute of Health Statistics on the analysis of a completely unique database that links data on population health with the use of health services, indicators of the social situation of individuals and households, and spatially detailed information on the concentration of poverty in the place of residence. This is a completely new data source that has not been available in the Czech Republic before. Individual records were linked across several national registries: vaccination status was obtained from the Infectious Diseases Information System; health status from the National Health Information System and the National Register of Paid Health Services; income and unemployment data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
This intensive collaboration resulted in the submission of the first joint scientific study (May 2025), with work currently underway on two more studies.
