Artificial intelligence is changing the environment we live in. Its development is dynamic and has affected practically all areas of our lives. On the one hand, AI is a tool for expanding human capabilities, on the other hand, a threat associated with the deepening digital divide, the spread of conspiracies and deepfakes, and the insufficient development of AI literacy.

The Mediated Society (MEDIS:ON) project responds to the dramatic development of technologies that have become part of everyday life in modern society. Its goal is to deepen the understanding of processes related to working with information at the individual, social and societal levels through the perspective of selected social science and humanities disciplines (psychology, political science, theology, pedagogy) and in close cooperation with computer sciences.

One of the areas that is dynamically changing in the light of AI is education. Previous studies show that most education systems in the world have not yet been able to respond to the development of artificial intelligence and general literacy in this area is insufficient. The project therefore includes, among other things, an extensive survey of secondary schools. "It is paradoxical, but neither here nor abroad, there is still no evidence of the impact of policies aimed at developing pupils' literacy in the field of artificial intelligence," said Tomáš Lintner, who is currently studying the impact of AI on education.
